The "Waters of Vojvodina" international regatta, the 12th in a row, takes place from June 24 to July 3 on Vojvodina's canals and rivers.
Regatta gathers around 300 participants, eager for adventure, who this year will cross a route of 300 kilometers in 10 days with almost 100 boats, on the route Novi Sad - Bački Petrovac - Ruski Krstur - Srpski Miletić - Sombor - Bezdan - Apatin Bogojevo - Bačka Palanka.
The sailing also marks the Day of the Danube, June 29, when the regattas will be guests in Apatin and participate in the event on the occasion of this "river holiday".
This year's theme of the regatta is ecological and carries the slogan "Clean water, clean love". Apart from the environmental action, where the regatta participants will separate waste for recycling in cooperation with all the local self-governments they visit, the regatta also has a humanitarian character. JVP "Vode Vojvodina" in cooperation with the Association "Cepa do smeje" will buy a therapeutic tricycle for Dorotea Peić (8) from Valjevo and a wheelchair for Mihajlo Papa (17) from Novi Sad from funds collected from recycling and own funds.
JVP "Vode Vojvodina" included students in this year's regatta, so it awarded a prize of 120,000 dinars to FTN student Marko Ađin for the winning logo in the competition for creating a logo with an eco-motive. His logo thus became a trademark International regatta "Waters of Vojvodina" in 2022.
This year's regatta is of great importance because, in addition to promoting the nautical and touristic potential of Vojvodina, we are raising awareness of ecology and nature conservation in the navigable area, in which we included the Ministry of Environmental Protection, local governments, numerous citizens' associations, and even students. Our goal is for JVP "Vode Vojvodina" to be recognized as a socially responsible company - said the director of JVP "Vode Vojvodina" Srđan Kružević.
