Backa Palanka is located at the 1298th kilometer. The settlement is reached through a green belt in which several tributaries of the Danube are overflowing.

The most important backwaters are "Tikvara" and "Bager".

Both arms are navigable for boats. At 1298.8 kilometers is the entrance to the "Tikvar" and inside the backwater is arranged a mooring for boats and a large sandy beach. The center of the village is about 400 meters from the backwater and offers ample opportunities to supply tourists-boaters. For yachts with deeper draft, it is recommended to use the mooring and the pier in the "Excavator" canal at the 1295th kilometer. Below Fruška gora, the course of the Danube is intertwined with a series of islands: the island of Govneš, Zeleno ostrvo, Velika ada, Neštinska ada and others are a real paradise for boaters and fishing enthusiasts.

The Danube River, which has the greatest natural tourist value, connects our municipality with Western, Central and Northern Europe on the one hand and the Black Sea and Eastern Europe on the other. It provides exceptional opportunities for the development of excursion, transit, manifestation and, above all, nautical tourism. The course of the Danube River passes through the territory of the Municipality on the length of about 35 km (1315 rkm - 1280 rkm), while on the last third of that length the territory of the municipality consists of both banks of the Danube (Neštin). On that part of the waterway there are moorings whose locations have extraordinary natural predispositions for the development of nautical tourism.
